    Trunki ToddlePak Fuss Free Toddler Reins
    We already own a few Trunki items as I purchased a couple of the ride-on suitcases for my children the other year and they also have a PaddlePak each and they love the characters on them. I have owned a couple of harness and reins in the past for my son and one of them was a standard boring black colour and a nightmare to put on and take off and then actually manage to untangle between uses and so it quite quickly ended up in the bin and the other was nowhere near as easy to use as this one nor as bright, colourful and fun. The harness and reins are adjustable and suitable for between 6 months old and 4 years old and come in a variety of designs just like Trunki's other products. My daughter immediately chose the Dudley Dinosaur design as I think she wanted to copy her big brother and be into dinosaurs like him and we also have the slightly more girly Pink Betsy set too so that she can choose between them. The Dudley Dinosaur version is a very bright and vivid green colour and he has a cute little dinosaur face on the front with little horns, a frill around his head and little arms hanging down under his head. Dudley has a sort of webbing material on the inside of him which is a slightly darker green colour. The Pink Betsy version is a bright and vivid pink colour and she has a cute little face (I think she may be a cat or a bear) with purple ears and she also has little arms hanging down under her head. Betsy also has a webbing material on the inside of her which is a lovely purple colour. The strap that goes around the chest under the arms is really nicely padded and the shoulder straps are also a little bit padded too. Both versions have a grey reflective strip on the front too as an extra safety feature for when out and about with your little one in darker lighting conditions. The harness itself is adjusted by squeezing the buttons on either side of the buckle to loosen the harness straps as required and to tighten you simply pull the grey straps as needed. This mechanism is so easy to use and so much simpler than messing about with buckles like we have had on harnesses in the past. The grey tightening straps also hook neatly away under the front part of the harness where the reflective strip is to keep everything much neater. The reins are just attached to the two D loops on either side and can be used as either a training rein for when your little one first starts walking or just as a leading rein for when they are more confident but you want to keep them close and perhaps prevent them from running off like my daughter likes to try to do. A wonderful design which is really so easy to take off and put on and I love the different individual designs available and more importantly my daughter loves them and rather than refusing to wear them she want's to wear the harness all the time at them moment even when we are home! Edit 07/04/16:- I have attached a few photos showing the harnesses on my young daughter and older son. My son doesn't need to wear a harness but I thought it may be helpful to show one of the harnesses on him as he is at the upper end of the age range.

Anyone who has looked after a new walker, for any time at all, knows that they trip on the slightest change in level, lose concentration and walk into things and have absolutely no sense or fear. This harness helps to both catch them when they trip and restrain them when they run off. If only I could get it off it would be perfect, but the catch doesn't work properly, it's a real struggle to get it to open especially when its attached to a squirming toddler - which of course it always is!

      The ToddlePak is made from thick canvas which forms a bib like harness for your child. This is fully breathable so you won't have to worry about your child getting too warm while wearing it. You place their arms and head into it and then tighten it up at the rear. I must confess that I was a bit confused as to how I was going to make the ToddlePak fasten on my child's back when I first opened it but, with an 'aaaaah' it all became clear and I found myself grinning at the very clever design. I was expecting buckles and slides to adjust the fit but, instead, it works with simple velcro. At the rear of the ToddlePak you lift up the canvas to find two velcro straps on the waist, one on each side, which can be lifted and moved to ensure a comfortable fit. You can also adjust at the back to make sure the straps sit properly. This makes it so simple to do and means that you can adjust the fit dependent on what your child is wearing quite easily. It's super clever and a typical design feature of those clever people at Trunki. I find it easiest to pop the ToddlePak on my child and adjust it rather than trying to do it in advance. The ToddlePak fastens with a really secure plastic mechanism. Here is the only issue with the ToddlePak, in that the release buttons for the back buckle are exactly where you automatically place your hands to fasten it. That's only a small problem though and you quickly learn to hold it in a different way to close the buckle.

      The included rein can be used in two ways - as a training rein for early walkers which is shorter and allows the adult to help with balance if needed, and then as a leading rein for more able walkers. This sees two leads join in to one and the adult hold it by a convenient handle. We haven't tried the training rein on our child as she walks well but I think it would be very effective for younger children who need a little extra help from their adult.

      I think that the Trunki ToddlePak is an excellent design and one that has changed my opinion on toddler reins. Highly recommended.

      It works amazing for my 2 wily toddlers. Before I got it they were constantly running away trying to get them to and from the car and anytime we would be out somewhere and it just wasn’t safe. My boys are big and strong for their age so I just know this thing is strong as hell. It’s adjustable so if your kid is bigger or smaller you can change the size. Not to mention my oldest thinks it’s super fun to run around on the leash so it’s not a battle to put on.

      Cute harness but the clasp is just to hard to open and close . If you don’t have strong fingers then don’t purchase.
